I had not worked out in fours years. A car accident and a new baby at 48 had kept me side-lined and just a little busy. My friend introduced me to Chana during the pandemic. I, like many other people, had been extremely stressed homeschooling my older daughter, teaching from home, managing the household, and feeling very isolated. I put on 8 pounds stress eating. I had to do something and started Chana's class on Zoom. From the moment I "met" Chana, she was extremely supportive. Over email, we discussed my past injuries and the possibility that I also had diastasis recti (a separation of the abdominal muscles) from my last pregnancy. She is very knowledgeable about anatomy and body mechanics. Correct form is of paramount importance to her. She encourages you to work at your own pace by including modifications for every exercise. And even though we are on Zoom, she checks in on your progress and gives you useful feedback as you are working out and the personal encouragement I needed. I feel connected to Chana even though I've never met her in person. She is a mom of three kids, has an edgy sense of humor and is working out right there with you. I started noticing a difference in my body after only about three weeks. I started feeling stronger and saw the jiggly parts begin to tighten up. Most importantly for me, although the work out is challenging and some days are tougher than others, after a session with Chana, I feel energized, positive, and mentally ready to take on the day.
